Carolina was born in Havana, Cuba. She immigrated to the United states at a young age when the Castro regime took over. While growing up Carolina was selected for various scholarships for art programs which started her interest in her field. After graduating with a double major in Art and Psychology, she taught art to the newly arrived Cuban exile artists for several years. In 1987 she moved to New York to pursue her true passion, sculpting. She then began exhibiting in galleries of note and now mostly works for commissions.

Carolina is married to an Austrian Architect and has two sons. She currently resides in New York with her family.
