My Hippos were inspired by a high school reunion with some of my oldest and dearest friends. I wanted to celebrate our friendship by giving them something that crossed the boundary between jewelry and sculpture, an art object they could wear, a charm to accompany and protect them. I felt drawn to the shape of the Hippopotamus even before I discovered that it was revered in Egyptian mythology as the protector of women...perfect!

After my friends and I received so many inquiries for my Hippo. I decided to make it available to others as well...
