Hand-sculpted “Mater admirabilis” pendant.

ABOUT: the pendant depicts the ‘Mater Admirabilis’, a 19th century religious fresco at the Trinita dei Monti church in Rome. The fresco was painted by a young French girl, Pauline Perdreau, and given its name by Pope Pius IX and portrays a youthful Virgin Mary surrounded by symbols of her purity of heart and contemplative nature: a lily, a book and a distaff and spindle. As I had no recourse to the muted pastel colors of the original, I focused on capturing the self-contained quietude and repose of the figure in my pendant.

The pendant is part of the limited number series (only 175 will be made and each piece will be numbered in the back).

Please allow approximately 3 weeks for delivery of gold and silver pendants and 3 to 5 weeks for two-toned.
